Tennis Open, Valencia 2012

Our first time at the modern area of Valencia where there are museums, aquarium, concert halls, etc
Have to say it was stunning! Beautiful. Gorgeous light, space, architecture. Amazing. And such a contrast to the other parts of Valencia that we’ve seen so far.

Architecture itself looked like cruise ship (could almost see Grandma Netty & Papa Brian there!), skeletons, back bones, sharks teeth, harp, really impressive. And beautiful simple blue & white mosaics on huge areas.

“Special bonus: going with Uncle Eddie – to the Finals of the VALENCIA OPEN 500, which itself was impressive.”
David Ferrer (Spain) v. Alexandr Dolgopolov (UKraine). Indoor stadium – never seen tennis inside before. Stadium seemed so small, but cozy. Felt like we were almost on the court. So close to the players and the action. Intimate, and real. Very exciting. Nice casual atmosphere. 95% full. Ferrer won!
